Boston Marathon Race Director Dave McGillivray is a busy guy, what with directing the Boston Marathon, running marathons (including the World Marathon Challenge of seven marathons on seven continents in seven days), and combining sports and philanthropy through his business, DMSE Sports, to raise millions of dollars for charity.
I hate running. But I love having gone running! One way I fix my motivation hiccup (it's just so much nicer on the couch with tea and books) is with podcasts. When I run, I get to listen to an episode, and that's enough to make me want to lace up my sneakers and head out.
Have you been watching the presidential debates? While some of the topics discussed during this year’s election cycle might not be appropriate for younger viewers, there are plenty of speeches being made and town hall meetings being held where the candidates speak about policy, the presidency, foreign relations, and many other things that are important for all of us to hear.
Math was never my strong suit (English nerd forever!) but as an adult, I wish I’d pay closer attention and learned those skills well enough that they lasted past graduation. Math really does have a lot to do with my life, and if I were better at it, many things would be easier for me. Hindsight is 20/20…
What have you got hanging around your house or classroom that you don't want to throw away, but you can't figure out what to do with it? Here at the Nomad office, it's plastic CD cases. We have millions of them! Okay, that might be an exageration, but there's a stack at least a foot high taking up space in the corner. Throwing them out would be a waste of plastic, but....are they useful for anything else?
